LBBC/Resomation achieves Bronze Award
Congratulations to LBBC/Resomation on achieving their Bronze Award
Originally founded as the Leeds and Bradford Boiler Company (LBBC) in 1876, the business is celebrating an incredible 150 years under five generations of family ownership. From its Leeds base, LBBC has built a global reputation for autoclave solutions, system integration and precision engineering, and today serves as the exclusive manufacturing partner for Resomation.
Founded in 2007, Resomation Ltd is a pioneering provider of water cremation technology through its innovative Resomation® alkaline hydrolysis process. The Resomation® process uses alkaline hydrolysis as an alternative to flame cremation, with lower carbon emissions and no direct combustion, the technology is now available internationally, and following legislative changes, became lawful in Scotland in March 2026.
The Bronze Award was presented to Howard Pickard, Managing Director of LBBC Technologies, and Helen Chandler, CEO of Resomation Ltd, by Professor Hilary J. Grainger OBE, Chair of The Cremation Society, and Alan José, President of the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities (FBCA), recognising their commitment to innovation and sustainability
