Congratulations Steph from Wegnalls Willow Coffins, on achieving the GGFS Trusted Supplier Platinum Award.

Based on a farm in rural Herefordshire, Steph currently grows around 1/8 of an acre of willow with 26 different varieties specifically chosen for basketry.

For the willow to be grown and woven into coffins on Steph's small farm reduces the carbon footprint of her coffins considerably. The material travels less than 0.5 miles from field to workshop, where it has been organically grown, with no use of pesticides or herbicides, and is 100% sustainable. Her workshop has also been fitted with solar panels.

Completing the GGFS Sustainability Audit Questionnaire has demonstrated with evidence that Steph is committed to using locally sourced, natural, and sustainable materials in her coffins, ashes urns and basketry commissions, to be as environmentally friendly as possible.
