So proud of Brendan, in recognition of his dedication to the bereavement sector, was elected a Life Member of the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management at their recent Learning Convention and Exhibition at Chesford Grange, Kenilworth.

Brendan attended his first joint annual conference of the Institute and Federation in 1985 and I enjoyed attending with him for many years thereafter. We remember fondly many of the names from early conferences and always enjoy meeting up with friends new and old..

One thing is beyond doubt, there are so many lovely, dedicated colleagues within the profession who's enthusiasm and love for what they do is outstanding. Brendan is no exception, in fact I could probably say not only have we been married for nearly 43 years, at many times it feels like I have been married to his work and the FBCA and the ICCM.

Now that's enough tears of pride. Time for me to crack the whip to get him working on our Greener Globe Funeral Awards scheme.
