Step 2 - Complete Sustainability Audit Questionnaire
Follow our straightforward online Sustainability Audit Questionnaire, designed especially for the funeral director.
Completing the Sustainability Audit Questionnaire enables the funeral director to quickly examine all parts of their business to identify the areas which are already sustainable and those where further work is required.
The audit covering generic and sector-specific areas of your business is made up of 50 questions including travel, vehicles, waste and recycling, energy, water, flowers, memorials through to considering your suppliers and their sustainability practices.
For each question we ask, we explain the reason for asking the question. We provide examples of responses. In line with the ISO International Standard of auditing we ask you to provide evidence for all your answers. This can be as easy as just taking a photo to evidence you have double glazing for example. If you get stuck, we will be on hand whenever you would like help.
Upon receipt, your submission and supporting evidence will be checked by our qualified ISO 14001 auditors. If there are any errors or omissions, we will guide you further on what is required.
Each question in the audit has been given an aspect score which is calculated by assessing the environmental impact. If we feel it would be relatively easy for you to gain extra marks, we will contact you with our suggestions to help increase your score.
Once your answers have been signed-off, a Silver, Gold or Platinum Award Certificate will be issued which you may proudly display at your premises. You may also use the Greener Globe Funeral Standard logo in your branding, including your stationery and emails.
Details of your business will be updated on the Greener Globe Funeral Standard website informing other companies and the public of your achievement.
On the anniversary of your registration, payment of your annual surveillance fee will be required. If you wish, you can review and update your Sustainability Audit so that your environmental aspect score reflects any sustainability improvements you have made. Alternatively, if it is less than 4 years since your last audit, you can complete the Audit Waiver declaration. The declaration confirms there have been no material changes that could impact your award. Once your annual registration fee has been received, together with your completed sustainability audit or declaration, we will update your award.
