Bronze - Adopt an Environmental Policy

The First Step to a Greener Globe Funeral Award is to evidence your business has an up-to-date environmental policy.  Don’t worry if you haven’t already got one, because we have our own straightforward Trusted Environmental policy ready for you to adopt, which we have designed especially for you.

Your Environmental policy is your pledge or commitment to protecting the environment and typically will cover use of energy and water, prevention of pollution, waste, and recycling.

You simply need to upload your signed and dated Environmental policy to evidence your answer and tell us how you ensure all your employees are made aware of your policy.  Upon receipt, your submission and supporting evidence will be checked by our qualified ISO 14001 auditors.  If there are any errors or omissions, we will guide you further on what is required.

Upon successful sign-off, a Bronze Award Certificate will be issued which you may proudly display at your premises.  You may also use the Greener Globe Funeral Standard logo in your branding, including your stationery and emails.

Details of your business will be updated on the Greener Globe Funeral Standard website informing other companies and the public of your achievement.

When you are ready, as a holder of the Bronze Award, you may go onto the next step of completing the Sustainability Audit Questionnaire to gain your Silver, Gold, or Platinum Award.

Your award will expire after one year of your initial application.  We will notify you in plenty of time before it is due to expire. It is renewed by confirming your continued commitment to your Environmental policy, updating us on where you are on your journey together with payment of your renewal fee to cover you for the next 12 months.

for Funeral Directors and Suppliers £495*

for Crematoria £750*

* to include registration, environmental policy submission for the Bronze Award, carry out audit on your completed sustainability questionnaire, receive your own bespoke improvement plan, Award Certificates, Welsh slate plaque for Gold and Platinum Awards. Your award to be listed on our website for all to see. Use of our logo and award on your marketing.

Thereafter annual surveillance fee  - £247.

Smaller additional premises, used for arrangements/sales only - £52 per annum.
